Learning From Toxic Memes

Square

Much of the memes, quotes and relationship advice people share on Facebook are kinda toxic. Maybe the word toxic isn’t right. People just use them in the wrong context.

But let people share. Let them talk.

When somebody is trying to talk about their problems, it shows they are developing insights.

The more somebody talks about their problems, the more insights they develop. A successful modification is a long journey, but at least they are in the early stage of becoming more self-aware.

Let them express themselves with whatever emotional tools they have available and without being shamed for it.

People who have emotional vulnerability are not vulnerable in all dimensions. Maybe they are great social butterflies, but not so good at interpersonal relationships. If you think of it as skills you need to develop, you are not going to be ashamed of it.
